Estepona is a small coastal town at around 20km West of Marbella. The town has kept it´s authentic ambience with its narrow streets and white houses decorated with hundreds of colorful flowers. In the recent years the municipality has done a great effort to keep up with Marbella and has done many exciting changes.
Estepona offers excellent health centers, schools and sports centers. The recently build Centro Deportivo Las Mesas features a huge work out area with fitness, paddle courts and different classes. There are two main beaches in Estepona: La Rada which goes along the promenade right opposite the old town and Playa del Cristo – a small charming beach near the Marina. Due to that many choose to live there permanently.
Right in the center of town you will find the beautiful “Orchidarium” an orchid museum displaying over 1300 species. The town has some lovely streets for shopping and many restaurants with different cuisines. The Marina of Estepona is beautiful and hosts a weekly flee market.
Urban Open Air Art Museum
In the recent years Estepona has become an urban open air art museum with its Route of 60 Murals. These are huge graphite paintings drawn on residential building´s walls in the center.
Buying a property in the town is suitable for those who enjoy the local vibe and prefer to be at a walking distance to amenities. The beach is at a short walk from anywhere in the center as well. Because of the fact that there is an easy transportation to Marbella and Malaga Airport it is very convenient if you don´t want to use a car.
There are a few new build complexes in the area to choose from. Nevertheless if you prefer the beautiful small houses in the center you can get one at an excellent price.
