After the slow down during the first months of the pandemic in Spain there has been 26.2% increase in property sales compared to the same period in 2020.
Property Sales in Andalusia
According to the National Statistics Institute in Spain the transfer of residential property rights in Andalusia has increased from 6.918 in March 2020 compared to 8.043 in March 2021 with its lowest amount being in May 2020 where only 4.348 properties have been sold in the area.
Out of those the purchase of new build homes was 1,245 in March 2020 compared to 2,088 March 2021. In the area of Malaga there were 1.828 property sales in March 2020, 557 out of which were new build. To compare with March 2021 there were 2.393 property transfer rights out of which 337 were new build homes.
Property Sales in Spain 2021
In July 2021, 183,717 properties were registered in the land registers, 26.2% more than in the same month of the previous year. Registered housing sales increased by 53.5%, compared with the same month of the previous year and 4.3% compared to the previous month. Full report you can find here.
Housing Price Index in Spain 2021
The annual rate of the Housing Price Index in the second quarter of 2021 increased 2.4 points, standing at 3.3%. This was the highest level since the fourth quarter of 2019. By type of home, the annual rate for new homes increased almost four points, to 6.0%. For its part, variation in second-hand housing reached 2.9%, more than two points above that registered the previous quarter. Full report you can find here.
