Finca Cortesin, the course that will host the next Solheim Cup from 22-24 September 2023, has unveiled a brand-new first hole: a drivable par four where players will face the challenge of reaching the green with their tee shot while a bustling grandstand full of spectators creates a unique atmosphere. The show is on!
The ambience on the first hole of the Solheim Cup is unlike any other golf tournament. The atmosphere and the decibels created by the European and American fans with their chants, music and colours mean that at that moment, the spectacle is turned from the golfers to the stands.
Finca Cortesin is an independent luxury golf, hotel and spa destination resort set in the rolling hills of southern Spain between Marbella and Sotogrande. Overlooking the Mediterranean to one side and the tranquil Casares Mountains to the other, Finca Cortesin was designed in the style of a traditional Spanish ‘finca’.
Opened in March 2006 and set across 532 acres, the exclusive Andalusian development is a member of the exclusive European Tour Destinations network. Its world-class facilities include an elegant 67-suite hotel, Hotel Cortesin, a magnificent 18-hole championship golf course with a state-of-the-art Jack Nicklaus Academy, a 6,000 sqm Beach Club and an award-winning spa featuring Spain’s only snow cave, with bespoke treatments by French beauty brand Biologique Recherche.
